 ‘I understand you teacher, just not anyone outside of the classroom’. For English language teachers in Scotland, this is a common student comment. But where do we start when it comes to supporting our students with local Scottish speech? In this practical presentation, we’ll discuss how to provide exposure and listening decoding practice to make students feel confident with Scottish English.
